Five months after a tragic accident that threatened to end his racing career, New Zealand’s Terenzo Bozzone has shown his class, returning to the winner’s circle, holding off local hero Sam Appleton with a dominant performance at IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney. Women’s winner Radka Kahlefeldt was unchallenged in her first look at the Penrith course…

Wow! Terrenzo is another level. What a comeback race! And what is with all of these super mum’s racing and winning at the moment.

Damn. The Trizone article he wrote about his ambitions for the weekend wasn’t convincing with its optimism, despite the optimistic headline. Maybe that piece was a smart poker move designed just for Appleton, just to freak him out during the run leg.

Always nice for an experienced athlete to race with little expectation. Even better when those expectations are well and truly exceeded, well done Terenzo!

It was great to read his thoughts on where he was up until then.

Wow what a comeback. Either the kiwi water is special or it seems to good to be true…
